The BRP Western Exploration Area encompasses over 94,000 acres of leasehold including 53,000 within the proposed Southern Miluveach Exploration Unit. Since the first exploration was drilled in 1966, 40 years of exploration drilling, based on 2D and 3D seismic data has led to several commercial developments, including the Kuparuk and Alpine fields, based on 2D seismic, and Tarn, Meltwater and Nanuk fields, based on 3D seismic. BRPC has acquired new, high-quality 3D seismic data which has revealed several prospects and leads including 16 prospects in the Southern Miluveach Unit area. Total unrisked resource potential in the area of the proposed Southern Miluveach Unit is estimated to be over one billion barrels OOIP with 345 million barrels of potential reserve.
