Prospects

BRPC has identified three North Slope focus areas consistent with our business plan: the Gywydr Area (Beechey Point Unit), the Western Colville Area and the South Thomson area. The Gwydyr Area is the most mature: we've drilled two wells, shot 130 square miles of 3D seismic survey, are planning and permitting a development, and have developed an extensive prospect portfolio. A new 220 square mile 3D seismic survey is being processed in the Western Colville area to aid in delineating the Kuparuk discovery in our Tofkat #1 well and to locate additional prospects.  3D acquisition is planned in the South Thomson area.

Gwydyr

The Gwydyr Area lies just north of giant Prudhoe Bay Field, which produces from Triassic (Ivishak Sandstone, Sag River Sandstone) and Cretaceous (Upper Kuparuk Sandstone) reservoirs. Mappable Triassic structures in the Gwydyr area have a historical success rate of eight out nine; Oil quality is high. (35-40° API). The 130 square mile North Shore 3D seismic survey was acquired in 2007. Processing includes Pre-Stack Depth Migration and an integrated AVO/Inversion analysis for reservoir detection. BRPC has identified more than 20 additional untested Triassic structures and five Kuparuk prospects. Reserve potential is at least 85 MMBO.

We have drilled two exploration wells, Sak River #1 and North Shore #1, an oil discovery in a Triassic structure. The North Shore #1 and BPX Pete's Wicked accumulations combine with three additional Triassic structures to justify development. Detailed engineering design work and development permitting are in progress.

Western Colville

The Western Colville area is bounded on the northwest by the Colville River Unit, which produces from the Alpine Field as well as several Upper Kuparuk and Brookian sands. On the east, the giant Kuparuk River Field produces from the Kuparuk River Formation and several additional sands. In 2008, BRPC's Tofkat #1 well discovered oil in Upper Kuparuk sandstones just south of ConocoPhillips' Nanuk Kuparuk field. Strong oil shows were also encountered in overlying Brookian topset and bottomset sands. The 230 square mile Big Island 3D Seismic Survey was simultaneously acquired. Processing is nearly complete: prospecting will begin this spring.

BRPC evaluated Tofkat via a well and two sidetracks. These wells were long laterals, with deviations over 70 degrees; evaluation included a long-spaced sonic/checkshot survey and MDT logging using TLC (Schlumberger) technology. In 2008, BRPC drilled more footage than any other explorer on the Slope.

South Thompson

BRPC acquired rights to 100,000 acres of leasehold south of the former Point Thomson Unit and adjacent to the Badami Unit. A 150 square mile 3D seismic survey is planned for 2010.

Prospect/Focus Blocks:

BRPC's prospect portfolio is evolving as we drill and acquire 3D seismic data. The following is a breakdown by leasehold and focus:

Beechey Point Unit: in order to facilitate orderly and cost-effective evaluation, BRPC is applying to the State of Alaska for a drilling unit comprising ~53,000 acres. 3D seismic has revealed at least 25 prospects in the Triassic, Jurassic, and Cretaceous section; the North Shore development leads will provide both a revenue stream and a proof-of-concept to facilitate further exploration and development of this ripe hydrocarbon trend just north of Prudhoe Bay Field.

Tofkat Block: BRPC encountered hydrocarbons in three zones within the Brookian section in the Tofkat #1 well and two sidetracks. Each zone produces in areas adjacent: Upper Kuparuk sands at Nanuk, Brookian fans also at Nanuk, and development plans have been announced for Nanushuk (topset) sands in the Qannik trend with the Colville River Unit. BRPC's Big Island 3D seismic survey, acquired simultaneously with drilling, will allow us to follow the trends in these, and other, horizons.

Big Island, East Colville Blocks: these blocks, north and south, respectively, of Tofkat, should contain hydrocarbon accumulations attractive to BRPC.

Itkillik Block: surface geochemistry encouraged us to pursue this acreage block. We expect this block will complement our acreage position to the north as seismic interpretation reveals prospect trends.

Hot Spot Block: these tracts lie just north of and on trend with ConocoPhillips' recently announced Qannik development.

South Thomson Block: BRPC controls 100,256 acres in 43 leases in this area, south of giant Point Thomson field and southeast of the Badami Unit. Additional prospective horizons include the Kekiktuk sand of the Enicott Group, which produces at Endicott field, and Alapah dolomites, which have excellent reservoir properties but await a suitable structure. We plan to acquire 150 squares miles of 3D seismic data in 2010.
